Media Training
-
there is no limit to the overall size of the group and any number can be involved in the interactive tutorial,
the message development and the exercises: however, because of time constraints, the number of people
who can actually recieve interview practice is limited to three or four — others in the group
can observe, learn and comment on their colleagues' performance
-
a PR representative (either from an internal department or external agency)
should be present and will play an active role throughout the day — an informed marketing professional
familiar with the company is necessary to help trainees develop the precise messages that you
want to see in the press
-
role-play interviews can be conducted face-to-face by the trainer; or if required, either a second journalist
can be involved — in person or by telephone — or the interviewee can move to a second room
and be interviewed by speakerphone
-
we also host open courses on which individual places are available — see the
Availability page for details of upcoming dates
Press Releases
- the number of delegates is kept to a minimum to ensure everyone receives full individual attention
- if several people from the same company or agency want to attend the course, we can run it at your premises if desired
- check out the Availability page for details of forthcoming dates and venues
- delegates should be well qualified in English and have some writing experience
-
it helps if delegates can bring their own material for the basis of a press release they want to write,
or that they have already written — this material can also form the basis of a role-play client interview
Practicalities
-
the day usually begins at 0930 and finishes by 1600, although if delegates want more information
the trainer will stay longer as necessary — a working lunch should be provided for around 1230,
and delegates are expected to take minimal breaks and work through as much as possible
-
see the How to book page for information on how to place a booking
-
the trainer will bring handouts and workbooks for the trainees, for use during the workshop sessions
and to take away for use as an aide memoire
